SWRTS does NOT accept the following materials:
- Liquid wastes or sludge
- Car batteries or car parts
- Hot ashes
- Sealed containers
- Compressed canisters
- Animal waste
- Food waste
- Putrescible materials
- Oils (including motor oil) and solvents
- Paints
- Hazardous waste, including but NOT limited to:
– Medical waste
– Radioactive or reactive materials
– Asbestos
SWRTS reserves the right to refuse materials not appearing on this list if they are deemed hazardous.
Please refer to the State of California’s CalRecycle pages for best practices in disposing of materials that SWRTS cannot accept. Below are additional links to organizations that will accept some of the above items:
